6 cocktails to make this Easter

There are lots of things to celebrate this Easter: we made it through a whole year of lockdown, restrictions are easing and this is the first weekend we’re allowed to see groups (of six) friends outside, and if anything, it’s an excuse to eat lots of hot cross buns, indulge in too much chocolate and celebrate with a tipple. Our choice of course being a delicious cocktail, made with one of our Caleño spirits. 

Whether you like it spicy, fruity, floral or zesty, our cocktails certainly pack a punch (in the right way). And if you can’t decide, why not try them all? There’s six cocktails – that’s one for each friend – and let’s not forget, Easter is a four day weekend after all…


1. Menta Fresh

Cleansing and fresh, you could sip this all day.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Light & Zesty
  • 15ml fresh lemon juice
  • 15ml 2:1 sugar syrup or gomme syrup 
  • 6-8 leaves of fresh mint
  • Top with soda water

Method

  1. Fill your glass with ice
  2. Pour over the first three ingredients
  3. Smack the mint in the palm of your hand to release the oils
  4. Top with soda

2. Verano Punch

If you like iced tea, you’ll love this.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Light & Zesty
  • 50ml chilled black tea
  • 35ml peach honey or peach puree

Method

  1. Make your tea using any black tea then chill in the fridge for a few hours
  2. Mix together your tea, Light & Zesty, and peach honey/puree
  3. Pour over a glass filled with ice
  4. Garnish with your favourite citrus




3. Caleño Collins

Our twist on the classic – thank us later.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Light & Zesty
  • 10ml fresh lemon juice
  • 10ml 2:1 sugar syrup or gomme
  • Soda top
  • Lemon

Method

  1. Fill a glass with ice then add the lemon juice, Light & Zesty and sugar syrup
  2. Top with soda & a slice of lemon zest


CALENO COLLINS
SPRITZ OF LA FIESTA

4. Spritz of la Fiesta

Something to get the party started.


Ingredients

  • 50ml Dark & Spicy
  • 15ml lime juice
  • 25ml orange juice
  • 25ml cranberry juice
  • Top with lemonade

Method

  1. Pour 50ml of Dark & Spicy over ice
  2. Add the trio of juices and top with lemonade
  3. Enjoy – You’re the life and soul of the fiesta




5. Cafe Coco 

A coffee kick to start your day or finish your night on a high, we won’t judge.


Ingredients

  • 50ml Dark & Spicy
  • 50ml Cold Brew coffee (vanilla flavoured if possible)
  • 20ml coconut purée (or cream)
  • 1tsp vanilla extract (if using original Cold Brew)

Method

  1. Mix it all together, give it a good shake, and strain into your glass

GINGER SPICE


6. Ginger Spice

For those who like a bit of sweet and spice.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Dark & Spicy
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 15ml agave syrup
  • 100ml apple juice
  • 100ml ginger beer

Method

  1. Add the Dark & Spicy, lemon juice, agave syrup, and apple juice to your shaker and give it a shimmy shake
  2. Pour into your glass and top with ginger beer – salud!
