Head of Finance & Operations

ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to: Founder (& MD)

Location: UK home based (mobile with the ability to spend time at our Bristol head office)

Salary Package: Competitive, with travel allowance, bonus and pension.

Role Mission: Build and manage Caleño’s Finance and Operational functions to ensure we have a framework for future success as the business ambitiously scales over the next few years. Additionally, ensure that Caleño is the ‘most positive’ non-alcoholic spirit brand to buy from which includes; the ‘most joyful’, the ‘most convenient’ and the ‘most responsive’.


What is your purpose within Caleño?

  • Leadership of the entire finance and operations function
  • Provide sound strategic financial and operational guidance across all areas of the business.
  • Building risk-managed financial forecasts that reflect business strategy and can support forecasted sales whilst effectively managing cash.
  • Ensure the business has accurate, timely and insightful information to be able to make informed decisions
  • Introduce robust financial and operational processes to drive the business forward. Constantly review costs across the business to increase efficiency and profitability
  • Partner and get the best out of our team (founder, commercial, marketing, operations). Manage key external stakeholders and investment partners
  • Everything else that comes with working in a start-up environment

  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA is preferred but not essential
  • Previously worked in a product-based/FMCG businesses
  • Working knowledge of Xero (accounts) and Unleashed (inventory systems is preferred but not essential).

E-Commerce Specialist

Role Overview

Reporting to: Commercial Director

Location: UK home based (mobile with the ability to spend time at our Bristol head office)

Salary Package: Competitive + bonus & pension

Role Mission: To triple our growth on Caleño’s eCommerce channels within the next 12 months by increasing conversion rates and the propensity to buy Caleño, whilst exploring other opportunities for online commercial expansion.


Role Outcomes

Significantly Grow our eCommerce Sales 
  • Triple our e-commerce sales within 12 months (across our website, Amazon & other online platforms)
  • Ensure Caleño is the ‘no. 2 best-selling’ non-alcoholic spirit brand on 2-3 major UK e-commerce platforms such as; Amazon & Ocado
  • Ensure our online sales participation is 30%+ with retailers such as Sainsbury’s
  • Launch Caleño into 4-5 other countries via key e-commerce platforms such as Amazon opportunities for online commercial expansion.
Optimise and Drive Traffic to Online Platforms
  • Drive conversions to increase revenue growth, customer acquisition, engagement, and retention rates
  • Design and execute roadmaps and consumer personas to support targeting initiatives
  • Work closely with our Social Media manager to set-up and manage social media e-commerce shops and increasingly drive success on our CRM and email platforms
  • Support in the optimisation of our customer service levels online which include; monitoring and driving reviews, our Net Promotor Score and order/delivery experience
  • Monitor and track all responses to eCommerce key account campaigns.
Develop our E-Commerce Strategy (including Driving Analytics)
  • Support our Commercial Director in devising and implementing our longer-term e-commerce strategy
  • Identify and drive quick-win initiatives that support longer-term business objectives
  • Develop SEO/PPC strategy and marketing plans alongside our Marketing Manager.
  • Create online marketing campaigns to promote products based on analytical data alongside business objectives.
  • Identify return on advertising spend to demonstrate with online P&L and an insight on sales and spend opportunities.
  • Identify product opportunities online (either existing or new line).
  • Monitoring web analytics and internal data sources.
  • Incorporate best practice across eCommerce and omni-channel.
  • Work closely with web development, technical teams and agencies on key projects
  • Prepare reports and analyse conversion numbers campaigns.
Other
  • Progress monitoring and budgeting effectively.
  • Provide quality control and assurance.
  • Developing schedules and timescales to meet quarterly targets.
  • Deliver accurate forecasts across all channels.

Role Competencies

  • 5+ years’ experience within E-Commerce and digital marketing
  • Extensive experience with practices and techniques relating to web merchandising or online retailing
  • Operational knowledge of techniques required for gathering market research, analysis and actionable outputs
  • Sound knowledge of website management and eCommerce usability
  • A passion and understanding of the FMCG industry, ideally within food & drink
  • Proficient with Google software
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills and able to work well with external agencies and key stakeholders
  • Honest, with integrity, with a natural positive outlook
