Celebrating World Gin Day

This year, World Gin Day falls on Saturday the 12th June. A celebration of all things gin, it’s an excuse to get your fancy glasses out and treat yourself to that slightly ‘extra’ bottle of gin you’ve been eyeing up for months, or get all your friends over and host a gin tasting (because we can actually do that now).

Gin has grown hugely in popularity over the years and is now officially the nation’s favourite spirit. From traditional, classic gins to flavoured, coloured and even sloe gin, what was once considered ‘mother’s ruin’ is now the drink of choice. 

It’s this love for good, quality gin that inspired us to make Caleño Light & Zesty. You may be surprised to hear that even non-alcoholic spirits go through a distilling process. Well, Caleño does, that’s what makes it so great, or ‘perfecto’ as they say in Colombia.

Our distillation process is a thing of pure joy. First, we hunt down the tastiest, tropical ingredients and spices, then pop them all inside our big stainless-steel drums. We distill our spirit for 48 hours, then leave it for further two weeks, giving all the zesty, zingy and exotic flavours the chance to develop, before popping our unique creation into bottles for you to enjoy – Perfecto!

Bring some joy to your World Gin Day celebrations with these delicious Caleño Light & Zesty cocktails. 


50ml Light & Zesty
20ml Pineapple Juice
15ml Fresh Lemon Juice
15ml 2:1 Sugar Syrup or Gomme
6-8 Mint Leaves

Shake it, strain it and garnish with a sprig of mint.

El Dorado

50ml Light & Zesty
3-4 Inca Berries
25ml 2:1 Sugar Syrup or Gomme
10ml Fresh Lemon Juice

Muddle the Inca berries, churn with crushed ice and garnish with a fresh golden Inca berry.

Dancing Queen

50ml Light & Zesty
1 Whole Fresh Passionfruit
15ml Vanilla Syrup

Top with soda and serve over ice.
