We love a picnic, so it’s a good job there’s a whole week dedicated to this wonderful outdoor activity in June. That’s right, from the 19th – 27th June, it’s National Picnic Week. AKA an excuse to get your friends together, find a big field or park, grab your favourite snacks and drinks, and make some long-lasting memories.
To help you celebrate, we’ve created the ultimate picnic bundle, including 12 Caleño Light & Zesty cans, some delicious vegan chocolate bars from LoveRaw, some Loro plantain crisps – because no picnic is complete without them, and a funky tote bag for you to carry it all in.
All you need to bring is a picnic blanket and maybe some extra snacks – we’ve got some great picnic food ideas in a blog we wrote earlier this year, as well as some top tips to really up your picnic game.
OK, now you’ve got the food and drink sorted, it’s time to choose the perfect spot. If you’re in the city, why not head to a park? Regents Park in London is always a good shout, or if you’re in Bristol, Ashton Court is a firm favourite. Those in Manchester will be familiar with Heaton Park and if you’re up in the beautiful Scottish city of Edinburgh, head to Calton Hill.
You could always turn your picnic into a little getaway and head out of the city and to a more remote location. Here’s a few ideas: Box Hill or Leith Hill, in Surrey, Burlington Gap in Eastbourne, Durdle Door in Dorset, The New Forest, The Peak District, The Lake District, by the sea in Sussex, one of the many Lochs in Scotland. There really are some beautiful spots in the UK to have a picnic, you could even go for a hike first if you wanted – we can attest, Caleño Light & Zesty is the best refreshment after a long walk.
With seven days dedicated to ‘picnicing’, how many can you fit in? Show us your favourite picnic spot and share a photo on your Instagram feed or story. Tag @calenodrinks #calenopicnic.
