5 Alcohol Free Cocktails To Make During January

At Caleño, we love a good party. After all, it’s in our Colombian routes. And just because it’s January, it doesn’t mean the enjoyment has to stop. 

You may be asking “How do you sober up in a month?” – our answer is to stir a little joy into your month of sobriety. Here are our new-year alcohol free cocktail recipes to help give you a little inspiration:

Spritz Aromatico

Orange & Passionfruit Seltzers, Serves 2 (96kcal per serving)

Ingredients: 

  • 100ml Caleño Light & Zesty
  • 200ml squeezed orange juice
  • 3 passion fruits
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • Soda water 
  • Ice
  • Orange wheel and passion fruit pulp to garnish

Method: 

  1. Fill a glass with ice and pour over the Caleño Light & Zesty, orange juice, passion fruit pulp, and maple syrup, and stir well.
  2. Top with soda water and garnish with passion fruit seeds and an orange wheel.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Cacao-leno

Rich cacao, coconut colada, Serves 2 (97kcal per serving)

Ingredients:

  • 100ml Caleño Dark & Spicy
  • 2 tsp of cacao powder 
  • 150ml coconut milk drink 
  • 20ml of single cream
  • 4 tsp of agave nectar 
  • Ice

Method:

  1. In a shaker, add the cacao powder and pour over the Caleño Dark & Spicy, coconut milk, single cream and agave nectar, and stir well.
  2. Pour into a shallow glass over ice, and garnish with a piece of dark chocolate.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

ZESTARITA

Low-carb Grapefruit Zestarita, Serves 2 (82kcal per serving)

Ingredients:

  • 100ml Caleño Light & Zesty
  • 1 grapefruit, squeezed
  • 1.5 limes, squeezed
  • 2 tsp of stevia natural sweetener (you can use 1 tbsp agave nectar if preferable)
  • Ice
  • 2 tbsp muscovado sugar for garnish
  • 2 tbsp of sea salt for garnish
  • Grapefruit slice for garnish

Method:

  1. In a shaker full of ice, add the Caleño Light & Zesty, grapefruit juice, lime juice and stevia natural sweetener and shake for 30 seconds.
  2. On a plate or wide bowl add the muscovado sugar and sea salt and mix together.
  3. Take your serving glass and run a grapefruit slice around the rim then roll it in the sweet and salty mixture.
  4. Fill your glass with ice and strain your cocktail, add a grapefruit wheel to garnish and serve.

Tiki-Tonic

Ginger Spiced Tiki-Tonic, Serves 2 (59kcal per serving)

Ingredients:

  • 100ml Caleño Dark & Spicy
  • 50ml elderflower cordial
  • 1 thumb sized piece of ginger, grated
  • 100ml low calorie tonic water
  • Ice
  • Gingerbread to garnish
  • Ginger slice to garnish
  • Cinnamon stick to garnish

Method:

  1. In a shaker, add a handful of ice and pour over the Caleño Dark & Spicy, elderflower cordial and grated ginger, and shake well.
  2. Strain into a glass filled with ice, using a fine sieve, and top with tonic water.
  3. Garnish with a slice of ginger, gingerbread and a cinnamon stick – enjoy!

POM PICANTE

Spiced Pomegranate & Lime Fizz, Serves 2 (88kcal per serving)

Ingredients:

  • 100ml Caleño Dark & Spicy 
  • 200ml pomegranate juice
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 100ml soda water
  • Thumb sized piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • Ice
  • Pomegranate seeds and lime slices to garnish

Method:

  1. In a shaker add a handful of ice and pour the Caleño Dark & Spicy in along with the grated ginger, pomegranate juice, lime juice and honey and shake for 15 seconds.
  2. With a fine sieve, strain over ice in your glass of choice and top up with soda water.
  3. Garnish with lime wheels and a sprinkling of pomegranate seeds, serve and enjoy!

Cali Cooler

Vibrant Mini Watermelon & Mint Coolers, Serves 2 (89kcal per serving)

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. In a shaker add the Caleño Light & Zesty, watermelon juice and lime juice, agave nectar, and two sprigs of mint.
  2. Muddle the mint and then shake well.
  3. Pour into a tumbler full of ice and garnish with another sprig of mint.
  4. Serve and enjoy!
